On Wednesday, May 13th, 2026, beginning at 7:00 p.m., the Senior Internship Experience will culminate with the Senior Symposium. Seniors will arrive early 6:45 p.m., to be properly prepared. They will be assigned to classrooms in groups of 8 - 10, and each classroom will be hosted by a faculty facilitator. This faculty member may be the seniors' Faculty Advisor, but not necessarily. The seniors will then take turns presenting about their internship to their peers. The presentations are to be approximately 5 minutes in length.
The purpose of the presentation is to share their experiences with their classmates and a faculty member serving as facilitator. They will discuss the various roles they learned about, tasks completed, and lessons learned about the field. The presentation should be engaging, informative, and should include their reflections on how the internship has influenced their future career path. While a Google Slideshow may be a good way to provide some structure, the presentation should be more. The senior should engage the audience - bring artifacts/examples of work they completed, pose questions or scenarios for their peers to solve, and integrate photos or videos that truly document their experiences (as a reminder, seniors should make sure they have obtained permission from their Community Advisor to include videos/photos of their workplace/coworkers). Any digital materials to supplement the senior's presentation, such as a Google Slide document or video clips, can be submitted and stored in the Senior Internship Google Classroom to access during the symposium. Seniors are to dress appropriately and professionally.
