Acalanes School Nurse
I am Dvora Citron, the Acalanes School Nurse. I am in my 20th(!) year at AHS. For the 2023-2024 academic school year, I will be in my office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and some Thursdays: Tue/Thurs - 8:00 am - 3:50 pm, and Wednesdsays from 7:30 - 3:20. My office is in the Main Attendance Office.
My background: I am a Registered Nurse with a BSN from USC, a Masters degree from SJSU, a California School Health Services Credential (School Nurse certification), PHN (Public Health Nurse) and CNS (Clinical Nurse Specialist). I am a member of NASN (National Association of School Nurses) and CSNO (California School Nurses Association). I have over 15 years of hospital experience at UCSF, Alta Bates, and Children's Hospital Oakland. My husband is a general dentist in Berkeley, and we have three adult children who matriculated through the Acalanes School District.
My passion is to support the health and wellness of the students, staff and families in our school community. I have a broad level of experience and knowledge, and my particular interests are Whole Food Plant-Based Nutrition, Mindfulness and Concussions. I have a certificate from eCornell in Plant-Based Nutrition and also have my certification as a Wellcoaches Health and Wellness Lifestyle Medicine Coach, and Pediatric Nutrition for Healthcare Providers. I look forward to expanding my professional practice to support thriving in our community, and am starting a blog on healthy living.
