REQUESTING SCHEDULE CHANGES
We hope you had a nice and relaxing winter break! We also hope you've had a chance to check your/your child's second semester schedule in your student/parent portal.
Here is some important information about requesting schedule changes:
Please submit the Schedule Change Request Form if you would like to make a change to your schedule. Once you submit the request, your counselor will reach out when the request has been reviewed. FOLLOW YOUR CURRENT SCHEDULE UNTIL YOU HEAR FROM YOUR COUNSELOR.
The Schedule Change Request Form is also located on the Announcements page of the WMHS Counseling Department website.
The last day to request a change is Friday, January 16th.
Here are the reasons you CAN request a schedule change:
You are enrolled in a class you've already taken and passed
You are missing a class that is required for graduation
You notice an error (i.e. Spanish 3 is scheduled before Spanish 2, Algebra II is scheduled before Geometry A, etc.)
You are in an elective class that is not a good fit.
Here are the reasons that schedules CANNOT be changed:
You want a class in a different block to be with a friend
You want to change a class to be in a different lunch
You want a different block to be with a different teacher
You don't like the order of your classes

VCTC Shadowing is OPEN!
VCTC Shadowing is OPEN!
Shadowing is a time when students can go to VCTC for 1/2 day to visit one (1) or two (2) programs of their choice. Students must be passing their classes in order to shadow.
Slots will be limited this year, so shadowing will be scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SHADOW BEFORE APPLYING.
Here is the process for shadowing:
Sign up to shadow using this form: VCTC Shadowing Sign-Up
Mrs. Long will schedule your visit with VCTC staff, then send you and your parent/guardian a confirmation email of the date/time you will shadow as well as other important information.
Students will inform their teachers of the date/time they are shadowing
to make sure it's a day they can miss class. If the teacher says it's not a good day/time to miss class, students will notify Mrs. Long that a new date/time is needed.
The VCTC Application will open on Nov. 1st, and will be open until Feb. 20th. The application will be online and can be found on the VCTC website (linked below) starting on Nov. 1st.
