SDHS is pleased to announce that we have implemented a new college management system called SCOIR (pronounced "score"). It's helpful for students and parents during the college search and selection process. There are also great interest inventories to complete if students are not sure what they would like to pursue after high school.

On Scoir, colleges come to life through pictures, videos and links that highlight active student clubs and organizations. This better enables students to identify colleges that are a good fit with their personal and academic interests, which increases college retention.

Scoir also provides parents with useful financial calculators so you can determine the likely cost of attendance at different colleges and consider the affordability when deciding where to apply.

These features, along with more convenient scheduling and communication tools, will help keep everyone informed and engaged throughout the college application process. Scoir exists to help more students achieve more positive outcomes, and we're excited that our students have access to this system and the opportunities it provides.

Students who graduate in 2021 and beyond will request that their transcripts be sent to colleges through SCOIR.

YouScience Career and Aptitude Assessment

This is a great tool to use to find colleges and careers associated with your interests!

To complete your YouScience assessment, click the Get Started button in the Career Profile tile.

You can return to the assessment at any time by clicking the Get Started button.

Once you have begun your YouScience assessment, you can always return to where you left off by clicking the Finish the assessment button.

When you’ve finished the assessment, be sure to save careers on YouScience by clicking the Save Career button in the career’s tile.

How do I request that my transcript be sent to my school?

Once you want a transcript sent to the college you are applying to, you will need to move your college selection to the "Applied" column on your "My Colleges" tab. Your counselor will then be notified and will know to send documents on your behalf.

How do I request letters of recommendation from my counselor or my teachers?

After you talk or email with a teacher to confirm that they are okay writing a recommendation for you, please request them officially through Scoir.

Here's how:

Log into your SCOIR account
Click on My Colleges (top of homepage)
Click on Recommendations (small blue box in the top right of page)
Click Request a Recommendation
Click the dropdown menu and choose the teacher(s) from the list (make sure you have personally asked this teacher prior to this request)
DO NOT click the box that says “Requesting for a Specific College?” This will allow us to send this letter to any college.
Add any notes to the teacher(s) in the message box (e.g. “Please mention my passion for Biology and my interest in Medicine.”) or just say thank you!
Click Send – this will send an email to the teacher stating your request and will add the request to the teacher’s Scoir account. It will also record that you have requested it in your Scoir account. When the teacher has completed the recommendation, it will be marked as “complete” and it will show in your Scoir account so you can keep track of your application materials.
Recommendations from people who do not work at Stuarts Draft High School must be sent directly from the writer through the application or via email.

Inviting Parents

Go to your Student Profile and click the + Invite a Parent button in the Personal Details section.
Submit the first name, last name, and email address of your parent or guardian.
Click Invite.
