Welcome to Team Bradbury!
Mathematics & Literacy & SE Case Manager
About Mrs. Lariviere: I grew up in Maine and have been a middle school educator for 25 years. As a strong advocate for all students, I believe in providing a variety of real-life opportunities for students to grow and learn. I strongly feel that Literacy and Numeracy are the cornerstones of becoming a thoughtful, active, and informed citizen. Observing, listening, and collaborating with my students allows me to understand who they are and what they need in order to learn. My hope is that students will ask questions, reflect on their learning, persevere through challenging tasks, and have fun while they grow and change through this 7th-grade year.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love exploring the rocky Maine coast, kayaking, and creating a variety of art with different mediums. I am an avid reader and enjoy writing stories and poetry.
Mrs. Lariviere
I have two main goals for us this year in Literacy class. The first is for students to increase their enjoyment and interest in reading. Whether an avid reader or can't remember the last time they finished a book, I will find the right books/genre for them. My second goal is to help students not only enjoy writing, but to find their voice and show the world who they are through the things they write. This class will reinforce, introduce and extend students knowledge around the areas of reading, writing, speaking and critical thinking.
I have two main goals for us this year in Math class . The first is to increase students enjoyment and interest in math topics. I am a strong believer in giving students opportunities to learn problem solving and critical thinking skills through individual work, labs, hands-on experiences, and collaborative learning. My second goal is to work on increasing awareness of math in our world and strengthen skills to encourage numeracy growth. Students will encounter mathematical challenges that will allow them to grow, as long as they are willing to try. This class will reinforce, introduce and extend students knowledge through problem solving, real life applications and error analysis.
