Societies of the Future

This course examines the roots and development of science fiction through short stories, novels, and films. Students will explore major themes in the field to gain a greater understanding of the genre and how science fiction uses imaginary beings or events to comment on society. Class discussions, student writing, and projects focus on major science fiction authors’ and filmmakers' works.
