Library Policies and Procedures

Item Checkout

Students may check out 3 books at one time
Checkout is for 4 weeks (overdue materials and/or fine notices are automatically e-mailed home once a month)

Lunchtime Use

Passes are available in the lunch room.
Please use only passes which are marked for your lunch period.
Each person needs his/her own pass.
Say "hello" to us! :)

Individual Student Use During Class Time

Have a pass from a teacher.
Say "hello" to us! :)
Come to the library with a purpose:

* to study

* to check out a book and read

* to work on an assignment or research

Computer Use

Look up a book in the library
Research
Classwork/Google Classroom
Keyboarding
Educational/Learning Tools

Fines

Fines are assessed for lost books & damage
Fines may be paid by cash or check to the ASB secretary. Checks should be made out to Olympic Middle School.
In lieu of fine payments, students can either
- help around the school after school or during lunch or
- replace the lost/damaged book with another age-appropriate, in-good-condition book

- Keep books correctly shelved and shelves straight
- Use time wisely
- Please no food, drinks, gum
- Follow Olympic’s school rules

Sticking with our clear and consistent boundaries will help all feel safe and comfortable and will increase learning success.
