To maintain a safe and productive learning environment, we have chosen classroom rules that reflect expectations found in the real world. All assignments are posted for the week in the room for students to write on their AVID calendars on the first day of the week. The expectations are:
RESPECT: Show high regard for yourself, teacher, peers, and school.
RESPONSIBILITY & SAFETY: Come to class prepared with your textbook, AVID binder, and CHARGED Chromebook. No food or drink allowed in class.
No backpacks, bags, or purses allowed in the classroom. Lockers are available for these things.
Bring your charged Chromebook and spiral daily. No personal electronic devices.
Handle devices carefully.
Move around the room safely and place items out of class walkways.
RAISE YOUR HAND: To participate in a discussion or share, raise your hand.
BE PUNCTUAL: Be ready to learn with materials in your seat when the bell rings.
GROWTH MINDSET: Give your best effort. Fail forward. Be positive.
Students who do not follow classroom-safety expectations or school rules will receive additional consequences which can include lunch detention, after school detention, or additional consequences.
