Everyone learns! You’re responsible for your own actions! You get out of anything what you put into it!
Welcome to our first year of distance learning! I’m excited to begin this school year, even if it’s not on campus. My goal is to create a virtual stress free classroom where learning can take place. You need to know that you are in a supportive classroom environment where you can feel comfortable taking part fully: asking questions, practicing and experimenting with the target language, and sharing your personal experiences. The following quote describes my hopes for this year. “I value an environment that allows people to take risks and make mistakes. We are all learning new things and we are here to help each other” - Kari Dewall
Course description:
This is a two-semester course for non-Spanish speakers that fulfills one year of elective requirement for graduation. In this class, students will develop the following skills: reading, writing, speaking, listening, correct grammar use and critical thinking in the Spanish language while applying it to their own lives. The main textbook we will use is Avancemos 1. To access the online textbook, go to Symbaloo on the Riverside home page, look for the online textbooks icon, choose Holt, McDougal and the textbook should open. Our daily classroom meets can be accessed through Google Classroom. The classroom code will be sent to you through skyward before the first day of class. Please be looking for an email from me! Google Classroom will be the go to spot for classroom updates, weekly and daily information, and assignments!
