✔️ Continue to align courses to students interests, preferences, strengths and needs. Personal Finance is offered to all seniors. Ensure your child selects this course during registration.
✔️ Students Complete the High School and Beyond Plan (graduation requirement)
✔️ Opportunities to explore college scholarships and college visits through the Career Center.
✔️Offer DVR appointments in building 1x/month. Reach out to Mmcneese@auburn.wednet.edu if you are interested in an appointment.
✔️Important Documents- Student should have access to and know information such as home address, doctor's name/phone number, current medications, any medical diagnosis, dentist name/number, other health care providers, names/doses of medication, etc.
✔️FAFSA- Should be completed in October for maximum benefits
✔️Guardianship/Power of Attorney- Explore guardianship or power of attorney if necessary. This should be done prior to the student turning 18.
✔️Explore independent living options- Will the student live at home or independently? What does that look like and what supports will be necessary?
✔️Sign up for DVR- If student needs help and support getting a job or managing themselves, you can sign up for support with Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.
✔️ Know your DDCS Case Manager if eligible
