✔️Align courses to students interests, preferences, strengths and needs
✔️Continue to work on HSBP during 7th period
✔️Opportunities through the Career Center to explore internships, apprenticeships and technical careers. College visits offered usually towards end of school year. Listen to the morning announcements or check in with the career center!
✔️Opportunities to participate in DVR-led job clubs with organizations such as Relevant Engagement, Morningside Services, Skills Inc., or ANEW. Many offer internships during the summer!
✔️ Opportunities to participate in our district-wide job skills program, Community Lab.
✔️Continue to explore post secondary options with your child. Start college visits with your student and visit the disability center to see what is available and realistic.
✔️Get an ID! This could be a license or just a state ID, but you need some form of ID.
✔️Volunteer- Gain experience by volunteering and gaining knowledge of what is available within the community.
✔️ Apply to DDCS if your child has high support needs or adaptive services.
