Special Education Teachers
Auburn's special education teaching staff is comprised of certified teachers who work within both the inclusive and separate special education setting. These teachers work closely with classroom teachers and paraprofessionals to ensure that instruction and support is tailored to meet the needs of all learners based on their Individualized Education Plans.
Kathy King
My name is Kathy and I am one of the Special Education teachers at Pakachoag. I have students both in the ISN classroom as well as inclusion students in Kindergarten and Grade 1. This is my first year teaching at Pakachoag and I have have fallen in love with the District, Pakachoag, my families and most of all my families. I attended Becker College where I graduated with a Bachelor's in Elementary Education with highest honors in 2013. I worked for a few years as a paraprofessional before I decided to attain my Master's degree in Special Education for Students with Severe Disabilities with highest honors at Bay Path College in 2015. I absolutely love being a teacher at Pakachoag. I love including life skills and cooking to the skills I teach my students. It is my hope to foster a love for learning for all my students and watch them soar!

Alison Simoneau
I have been teaching special education since 2019. Prior to beginning my teaching career, I had served as a substitute teacher, a paraprofessional and worked at another district's Before and After School Program. During that time, I completed my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Maine Farmington in 2019, with a degree in Moderate Special Education and I completed my Masters degree in Inclusive Education and Leadership in 2022. I believe in presuming competence in all students, encouraging them to realize that they can absolutely do anything they put their mind to. I hope to encourage my students to find a love for learning, motivate them to push through their challenges, and to celebrate their victories big and small.
