Pastor Matt Seegert

Pastor Matt has served at Atonement Lutheran since July, 2022. He is originally from Stevens Point, Wisconsin. He graduated from UW-Stevens Point in 2010 with a degree in Philosophy, with a concentration in Religious Studies and a minor in Anthropology. During his college summers he worked as a camp counselor at Crossways Camping Ministries, Pine Lake and Waypost Camps.

After college, Pastor Matt served in the Lutheran Volunteer Corps for a year in Oakland, CA  and for a few years as Christian Education Coordinator at Saint Andrew Lutheran Church in Wausau, WI. Pastor Matt graduated with a Master of Divinity degree from Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa in 2018. 

During seminary, Pastor Matt completed a unit of Clinical Pastoral Education at St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, working as a hospital chaplain. He also served for a year as the pastoral intern/vicar at St. John's Lutheran Church-Bliedorn in Grand Mound, Iowa. He served his first call at First Lutheran Church in St. James, Minnesota. 

Pastor Matt lives in Green Bay with his wife, Becky and their two children. He enjoys playing guitar, singing, and exploring new places with his family.
