Emergency Preparedness Starts at Home
City preparedness is only one part of the picture. Personal preparedness is just as important. During an emergency, residents may need to be self-sufficient for several days.
The City encourages residents to:
Build or update an emergency supply kit
Keep enough food, water, and medications on hand
Create a family communication plan
Know more than one evacuation route
Links to help residents make a plan, build an emergency kit, and sign up for emergency alerts are provided below.
Every household should have basic emergency supplies ready to use. Include water, nonperishable food, medications, first aid items, flashlights, batteries, important documents, and supplies for pets or household members with specific needs.
