A field technician is capable of:
Safely operating a drone weighing up to 55 pounds in the National Airspace System
Performing routine system maintenance and basic repairs
Record-keeping discipline
Maintaining sensors
Performing in the field data collection and validation
Competently utilizing industry standard data post-processing software
This site was designed and developed as part of a National Science Foundation Advanced Technological Education project grant. It is intended as a recourse for faculty designing credit -bearing Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems/sUAS (drone) curricula. The site contains curricula, information regarding industry and regulatory expectations for entry-level technicians. The site includes an overview of the types of technology required for starting an academic program.
