Online/Onsite Communication Arts Month and Teen Read Week Celebration
This year, the English Subject Area continues its Reading Interest Program, a year long project to promote the love of reading to the students of the AJHS. This year's theme is "Power through Reading." Power is gaining control over some thing such as knowledge, and power also means strength. Along the same line, part of the mission of the Educational Media Center (EMC) is promoting the love for literary appreciation and providing the environment for learning with access to all kinds of formats and resources. The theme for TW this year is “Break the Fake @ your Library. The theme focuses on spreading awareness of identifying and combating disinformation, misinformation, and mal-information among students and teachers through various exciting activities during the week. These activities bring on another kind of power through reading. The main vehicle for this program will be the Online Communication Arts Month (OnCAM) and Teen Read Week (TRW) with various and exciting activities in October and a culminating Teen Read Week in November.
