Xavier Déry a hérité de l’amour du bois de son grand-père et de son père. Il voue un immense respect aux arbres qui nous offrent le matériau extraordinaire qu’est le bois. Ayant une formation en anthropologie, il reconnait l’importance du rôle qu’a joué le bois dans l’histoire de l’humanité: de l’utilisation du feu aux structures des bâtiments, en passant par les outils préhistoriques et les premières embarcations. C'est avec tout ce respect et cette admiration devant cette matière qu'il crée avec elle.
Xavier Déry inherited the love of wood from his grandfather and his father. He has an enormous respect for the trees that offer us the extraordinary material that is wood. With a background in anthropology, he recognizes the importance of the role played by wood in the history of humanity: from the use of fire to building structures, including prehistoric tools and the first boats. It is with all this respect and admiration for this matter that he creates with her.
