Objective: To identify key places within your own lesson plans that student choice can be added/expanded and to embed options that give students more control over their learning.

Examine Priority Practice 2B

1. Read the following article on the Why Choice Matters to Student Learning

2. Choose one of the following Paths to focus on:

Choice in Process or how students interact with the content

Choice in Product or how students show their learning

3. Examine the Pro-Tips and at least two Resources in preparation to tweak your lesson plans. Your lesson plan(s) will be shared with your peers so that we can all steal your great ideas and give feedback. Note: If you would like to negotiate a different way to show your learning let me know drbeard1@asu.edu.

1.Bring up the lesson plans that you have created for the coming weeks.

2. Pick one or two lessons to start adding student choice to.

3. Apply the tips and tricks that you have gleaned from your learning path's resources

4. Turn in your lesson plan or your negotiated demonstration of learning for the school showcase in this Google Form.

Your lesson plans and exemplars will be posted here. A gallery walk will take place at the beginning of session 3 when we are all together.
