Welcome to SCAI!

This site is intended for graduate SCAI students admitted to programs at Tempe, Polytechnic, ASU Online Industrial Engineering and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certificate only (MCS Online students should review this page).

Congratulations on your admission to ASU!

If you have recently been admitted, welcome! We encourage you to carefully review the following information from the SCAI academic advising team to help you get started at ASU.

Steps after you are admitted

Review your admit letter

Your admit letter is available on My ASU. Make sure you download and save this document for future reference as it will only be available via My ASU during your first semester. If you are a Computer Science or Industrial Engineering student with assigned deficiencies, they are listed in your admit letter. See Deficiency Courses page for more details.

Accepting Admission

You do not need to formally accept your admission to ASU. You need to clear any holds and priority tasks and register for courses to show your intent to join.

If you have been accepted to multiple programs, ASU Admissions will require you to complete the Degree Selection Form prior to the first day of classes.

International students

Newly admitted international students should review the following important information:

Important: ASU does not provide late arrival exceptions. See details regarding deferring admission below as necessary.

Clear priority tasks in MyASU

Click on the item in your MyASU and you will find the details of what needs to be done and who to contact if necessary.

Who to Contact:

ASU Email Account

The main method of communication used by the university and the school to correspond with you is through your ASU email account. Make sure you register for your first course as soon as possible. This will ensure you have access to your ASU email account and are receiving important communication. You also must be enrolled in order to access the Slack Engineering workspace.

It is important to regularly check your ASU email account. It is not recommended to forward your ASU email to another account. All official communications from ASU will go to your ASU email address.

Manage your ASU email via the Profile tab on My ASU. For assistance with your ASU e-mail account, visit: https://contact.asu.edu/

ASU Photo and Sun card

Online students are required to have an approved photo on file and have the option to purchase a Sun Card, ASU’s official student ID. Directions for completing this task are here.

iPOS

Nothing is required for now as the Interactive Plan of Study (iPOS) will be submitted later. Masters level students will need to submit by the end of the first semester and PhD students will submit by the end of the first year. The iPOS functions as a degree audit with SCAI and ASU Graduate College and has no connection to registration or course seats.

 Deferring Admission (one semester only)

Students may defer their initial term of admission to the next term through their My ASU page by using the Request Change link. If you have registered for a class after being admitted to the program, then your deferral cannot be processed. You must first drop all your classes and then request the deferral.

The deadline to request a deferral is 11:59 PM (AZ time) on the session C drop deadline (see academic calendar).

If you are unable to arrive by the semester start date, please defer your admission by the semester drop/add deadline. We are unable to provide any form of communication (letter or email) for an exception to arrive late.

Students may defer their admission to the following semester one time.

If you have already deferred one semester, you will need to submit a new admissions application for future admissions. One year deferral requests cannot be approved.
