Registration Tips:
Prioritize deficiency courses. Even if you may waive or test for the deficiency course, you should enroll to secure a seat until you know if you can clear your deficiency. Next, prioritize core/area courses and courses you are interested in.
Prioritize required courses and/or area/concentration courses.
Be mindful of anti-requisites/equivalent courses. When viewing a class in the Class Schedule, click to expand the course and view the "Enrollment Requirements" which will indicate if "credit is only allowed for one course or another."
Examples: CSE 511/512, CSE 450/551, CSE 471/571, CSE 420/520, IEE 520/CSE 572
Enrollment Concerns & Override Requests:
Advisors cannot approve any section-full or time conflict overrides for courses. If there is a course you are required to take to meet degree requirements and graduate, please contact advising.
Some courses have reserved seats for certain groups or programs. If you do not meet the criteria for reserve groups, check the reserve expiration date to see when you may register.
Monitor your ASU Email for class schedule alerts and updates from the Advising office.
Course Permission Requests:
See SCAI Graduate Program Resources (Permission Requests) regarding requests for courses requiring department/faculty consent:
CEN/CSE/DSE/IEE/SER 580, 590, 595, 599, 784, 790, 792, 795, or 799
Elective Course Approval Requests:

Semester Overload Requests:
After the first semester, SCAI students in good academic standing may request permission to enroll in 12 credit hours (see Course Overload request). 12 credits is the max credit enrollment for SCAI Graduate students.
*Students who are appointed as an RA/TA in Fulton Schools only need to submit a permission request for 580 Practicum and the term will be increased to 12 credits with 580 approval.
