First Reflection - Your Writing Journey Begins
I greatly value the beauty of the world. I have studied art my whole life and look for beauty in every breath. Whether it is my passion for poetry or my fondness for flowers, aesthetics appeases my soul. My workspace is my safe space. I curated my study desk to inspire creativity. Being at peace to write has always been important to me. I need to be in the right frame of mind to be inventive. Imagination and openness have always been important to my writing.
Even though I have not written academically in over ten years, I try every day to increase my literacy inclinations. I love wordplay. I love alliteration. Writing and speaking with purpose have always been important to me. As I spread information by text, I also strive to make any written words shine. In doing this, I must also be careful not to add too much. I look for balance and reason as well.
If it should be an art history annotation or an instrumental email, every verse should flow creatively. When I write with poetry, my innovation shines. My professional career has flourished due to my word choice and thorough thinking. My newfound love of playing with words seeps into my life and education. Why not add music to your words?
I owe my many successes in the workforce to critical thinking. If you cannot work on your feet and make pressured choices, things will be difficult. I have always had very introspective and retrospective thoughts. That is the only way my mind works.
I look forward to learning how to use language to inspire others. I want to help others achieve greatness and see the world's beauty. I enjoy combining different parts of the English language. Using my knowledge of other cultures and speaking methods to help get a point across. I am eager to increase my knowledge of how to use technology in writing.
I attempt to portray my writing as something people enjoy reading. Instead of just writing the words and answering the question, I try to write melodies. I want people to read my work again and again. I want to be able to get my message across and include enough information. I don’t want to just brush the surface of what I am trying to say, I strive to develop sound written pieces.
Metacognition. Profound reflection allows us to understand deeply how we work in our world. I look forward to using my new favorite word and applying it to my new start in education. Thinking about how we write and what it then means is the main purpose of being a writer. To connect with another person and to share knowledge, but also to make an impact on our world.
Being able to put thoughts down on paper is not always an easy task. Using words to fire the imagination is key. We must use all the writing tools to practice and absorb further. Every day I strive to be a better person with my thoughts and actions through introspection. I now look forward to the continued review of my written works and to excelling further at writing. I want the work I leave behind to showcase my love and passion for meaningful pieces of history.
Final Reflection-Understanding Your Journey and Setting Future Goals
Looking Back
Prior to this year, it had been over ten years since I truly wrote something. I realize now there has been a missing link in my mind. Not writing and expressing my ideas physically has been a prison. Now, I am able to creatively express many facets of my being. Not only that, but I am able to do it with such a deep connection with my thought process. Metacognition has become one of my new favorite words and ways of thinking. I have grown in many different ways.
It was slightly challenging to morph how I wrote and fit it into the category of a research profile. I appreciated how honest and truly helpful the peer feedback was in my profile and progression. It helped me see things from a different perspective.
One piece of feedback that stood out was, “It sounded like a poem, and it was a little confusing. “I appreciated it because I love poetry, but it helped me understand that I must leave out some of the drama. I also was told that the main point of the profile was hard to capture. I knew this to be accurate as well. I only wrote about a pretty shop with pretty things. But it had no meaning. After researching the industry, I was able to add depth to my research profile. Side Note: It is, unfortunately, very hard to find legitimate, factual research information online.
It is ironic that my work during this course has greatly aligned with how I see myself as a writer, yet it is hard to put that into words. Self-analyzing has been the key to my success in the corporate world. Learning from every step and using that knowledge to better yourself and strengthen your thinking. In order to always try to improve your performance and strive to be a better version of yourself. This is how I see the thought process behind constantly reviewing and reflecting on your writing to improve further.
In my mind, I see things reflective of poetry. Sometimes I have issues verbally transcribing my thoughts into my own words. I have recently realized that I am able to relatively quickly, assertively, and accurately relate my thoughts to the written word. It is a long-lost talent. I look forward to continuing to perfect, reflect, and improve my writing and challenge myself simultaneously.
I am proud of not only my final output of work but of each and every answer to a question in this course. I have sum up my thoughts on the matter beautifully and hopefully gracefully.
This is just the beginning of my journey for the rest of my life, and this was a great starting point and pivot to the future. I want to keep, reflect, and cherish each piece of writing that I write from now on. Each is a reflection and part of the process of who I am. Like a piece of artwork, each writing work is a step in a brighter tomorrow.
Looking Forward
Now I understand that in the future, I will make sure I write with conviction and ensure that I give substance and depth to what I convey. I need to stand out of my comfort zone and delve deep into the message that I am trying to get across. Instead of just making body content, I need to strive to improve myself and everyone who might read my writing.
I look forward to using my new skills to enhance and improve my education goals. I am ensuring my success by how well I am able to learn and improve. This is a skill that will help in all aspects of one's life. I welcome and encourage any constructive criticism from anyone, this is how we develop into better people. Though feedback may be difficult to receive at first, it is necessary in the process of evolution.
I have spent so much of my life trapped in one state of mind and unable to break free. Now I can use my past mistakes and lessons to better my life academically and personally.
Having Art History as a major, expressing ideas is the most important skill. To be able to create a story by studying, understanding, and then interpreting these ideas and their meanings about a piece of our never-ending history. It is my dream to be able to express my ideas and share my passion for history and the beauty of our world with others. How can I do this without being able to communicate by writing and transcribing historical data? I look forward to studying these representations of the history of man and recording the importance of these pieces of culture.
During this course, while researching the process and intricacy of how to write successfully, I learned reflection and revision is the key to success. Going forward I will challenge myself and think deeply about what I write and what I am trying to portray. I will constantly try to revise and edit my pieces to ensure my meaning message is clear and concise.
I am constantly trying to be able to see things from many different perspectives and backgrounds. I use these views to shape how I see and write about the world that I see and learn from. I want to learn every little thing about the history of our world and what we have left to study about our ancestors. I want the work that I leave behind to showcase my love and passion for meaningful pieces of history.
As a mother, wife, student, and employee, I strive to continue to improve and elevate my stance in life. I will use my knowledge and writing tools to represent myself in my writing.
I look forward to adding to this portfolio for many years to come. It is a reflection of the appreciation I have for my education and my career. I will try to use my skills and amiable qualities to describe my value and prove that I can accomplish what I strive to attain.
