In FSE 301: Entrepreneurship and Value Creation, I demonstrated entrepreneurial competency by designing a structured consulting model that served as a liaison and catalyst for company-owned change. I developed a defined scope of work, conducted competitive analysis, constructed a revenue model with both base and variable cost components, and outlined a strategic go-to-market timeline. Through stakeholder analysis, benchmarking, and milestone planning, I applied engineering management tools to create a financially viable and scalable service framework. This experience required integrating technical analysis with market awareness, operational feasibility, and value proposition design.
The problem I explored was reducing resistance to change and the learning curve associated with implementing continuously improved operational standards. Companies should have a strong culture, particularly small businesses or family-owned ones, that embraces change. Continuous improvement projects demand a strong stewardship of implementing change. While cumbersome and teams resisted change, it must be implemented to sustain the business and keep it competitive.
The project aligns with the GCSP theme of Joy of Living by advancing organizational systems that promote stability, productivity, and responsible growth. By grounding the venture in projected employment growth and leveraging strategic partnerships, I connected entrepreneurship to broader economic and societal impact.Â
