This project was designed as a way to improve the throughput and reduce the financial impact of the many factors within an emergency department. By observing the processes at various emergency departments throughout the valley, our group was able to create process flow maps for their current state operations, use data analysis & simulation modeling to identify solutions.

TSA Optimal Position Rotation Process

The current rotation process used by the Phoenix SkyHarbor Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is a very complex process. Due to this, TSA has tasked our team with creating an optimal rotation plan with three focus areas: optimal rotation time, TSO time estimation to accustom to their current position, and an average TSO cognitive load evaluation. To achieve these goals, we have completed extensive analysis to optimize TSA performance while maintaining effective security at all checkpoints. Yet, we do not have a definite answer to the initial problem, we have several recommendations to improve the performance and efficiency of TSA.
