In this project, our team built example cases for the GW1NRF-4B SoC that utilizes maximum throughput with the onboard Bluetooth Low Energy module. By programming the FPGA to use MJPEG compression and using the MCU to control the Bluetooth module, we were able to stream data to a mobile application and vice versa and showcase the high throughput capabilities of the board while maintaining a low energy profile.

The goal of our capstone project is to produce an ArcGIS dashboard to help inform and educate residents of South Phoenix about the characteristics and trends of air pollution, specifically particulate matter 2.5 (PM2.5) and Air Quality Index (AQI). The dashboard displays measurements recorded by IoT sensors throughout South Phoenix. The secondary goal is to estimate PM2.5 values between sensor locations using machine learning (WIP).

ThinQ.tv – Tiny TVs Everywhere was a project to create 6 configurations of a small microcontroller driven display that can be worn as a necklace, belt attachment, or some other accessory. The main goal was also to create build descriptions that can guide students and enthusiasts through recreating these devices for themselves. The final product is intended to be a full DIY kit that has almost everything one would need to build these devices at home.
