Tier 2 Modules

What and Why

Tier 2 immerses STEM educators in activities that introduce culturally responsive practices in their technician training and collect evidence about impacts and outcomes for students.

The first module sets the stage using case studies about internships and industry-oriented project based learning that have been implemented by educators at Hispanic Serving Institutions. The next module provides training and content to develop students employability skills, also known as soft skills such as teamwork, communication, and project management. The third module involves assigning a mini-project to instructors to carry out with their students based on learnings to date. The final module in Tier 2 discusses how what you have learned could be applied to NSF ATE grant proposal writing.
