With over eight years of experience in public post-secondary education, I have dedicated my career to supporting diverse student populations, including veterans, through roles at community colleges and universities. My journey began in veteran services, where I specialized in financial aid and veteran education benefits, ensuring that students received the support they needed to succeed. This foundation then led me to work across different continents on multiple active duty military bases, where I gained invaluable experience working with diverse populations. Through my work with University of Maryland Global Campus, as a senior program coordinator, I supported the military affiliated community by helping learners reach their academic goals. I also led teams and initiatives in this role to better serve the broader military community.
Currently, I serve as the Lead Enrollment Coach for Team Bravo at Arizona State University EdPlus. In this role, I manage and mentor a team of 12-18 enrollment coaches, supporting them to guide students as they navigate the admissions process, class registration, financial aid, as well as veteran benefit processes. My work is characterized by a persuasive communication style that simplifies complex topics, allowing me to connect with and support both internal and external stakeholders effectively, as well as lead my team.
Throughout my career, I have consistently achieved results by finding innovative ways to increase efficiencies and enhance the student experience. My adaptability, self-discipline, and drive ensure I thrive in fast-paced environments, while my strong time management and communication skills enable me to lead effectively.
In addition to my work at Arizona State University, I have a proven record of contributing to the development and modification of university policies and procedures throughout my career, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. My leadership style is rooted in empathy and a deep commitment to maintaining high standards of customer service.
Recently, I was honored to be asked to contribute to an article in US News titled "4 Things Veterans Choosing an Online Degree Program Should Consider," where I provided insights based on my extensive experience working with military affiliated learners.
My educational background includes a Bachelor of Public Administration from Northern Arizona University and an Associate in Arts from Mesa Community College. I am also certified as a Global Advocate by Arizona State University.
