INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER
BRITTANY LAIDLAW
I am a native of Arizona with a B.A. in English Secondary Education and an M.Ed. in Instructional Design from Arizona State University ☀️ 😈 🔱. I proudly graduated with distinction and maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA in both programs.
My professional journey began at GoDaddy, where I initially delved into design. I later transitioned to Web Doggo, a role that emphasized designing and supporting websites. The pandemic underscored the critical need for functional digital learning, prompting me to shift my career towards education with a focus on effective instructional design. Throughout this transition, I discovered a passion for enhancing the engagement and accessibility of digital learning experiences.
I thoroughly enjoy the design process and have honed my skills in various tools, including Photoshop for photo editing, Premiere Pro for video creation, and Storyline 360 and Rise for e-learning design. A natural tinkerer, I thrive when working with cutting-edge technology and software.
My expertise extends to designing accessible and inclusive digital learning, guided by a profound understanding of the Principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1). Beyond design, I possess skills in various web-related areas such as domains, hosting, social media management, VPNs, and more.
I'm presently employed as an Instructional Designer on contract with V.G.S Concepts, but I'm actively seeking opportunities for long-term employment or additional projects.
