Unisexual reproduction workshop

Conference poster that I convinced Hanna and Peter should have a whiptail lizard ๐Ÿ˜€ (a beautiful blackbelly racerunner no less!)

This summer I organized a workshop on the evolutiuon of unisexual reproduction in collaboration with Peter Baumann and Hanna Kokko in Germany. The workshop was part of the Gutenberg Workshops in Life Sciences Series and included ~11 invited speakers and ~40 total participants! It was super fun to meet and collaborate with scientists from across Europe, the U.S., Australia, Brazil, and beyond! Work on a manuscript derived from discussions and synthesis is in the works, so keep and eye out! There were lots of great talks on the history of the field, exciting new research, and potential future directions, in addition to relaxation and conversations with new friends/colleagues in Ingelheim.

One of the more entertaining slides I appreciated from Dunja Lamatsch

Conference participants after a boat ride on the Rhine river and an introduction to German wine in Bacharach on am afternoon off.
