Barley Lab
Arizona State University, West Valley Campus

I am an Assistant Professor of Biology in the School of Mathematical and Natural Sciences at Arizona State University. My lab's research interests are in evolution, speciation, biodiversity, and conservation biology. Research in the lab involves fieldwork, genetics, lab work, and computational biology, with a particular focus on the biology of reptiles and amphibians. Current work is focused on resolving patterns of hybridization, speciation, and the origins of parthenogenesis in whiptail lizards in the southwestern U.S. and Mexico. We also have an interest in the biogeography and speciation of reptiles and amphibians more broadly across Central America and Southeast Asia.
