Travel back to the origins of chocolate.
Disconnect from the daily life, and have an effortless moment of discovery and fun that can help them unwind after a long day.
The chocolate is designed in a way that simulates not only the look of the pulp, but also the feel and interaction. Traditional cacao pulp typically contains a seed inside each piece, which is then roasted and eventually turned into chocolate. Pods makes chocolate the main “pulp”, and uses a fruit jelly to act as the cacao seed within each piece of chocolate. To enhance the feeling of discovery, each pod will contain four tropical flavors, all of which are inspired by the regions that cocoa growns in.
A cacao-inspired chocolate experience that takes the user back to the origins of chocolate through interaction and discovery.
Industrial Design BSD | Senior
Hi! I’m Atharv and I’m currently a senior at ASU in industrial design. I am originally from Seattle, Washington.Throughout my life, I have always pursued creative endeavors, but design gave me a unique lens of creativity. Industrial design allows me to continue making ideas come to life, while also making a positive impact on other people’s lives.
About Pods
My inspiration for this project was rooted in making something that would honor the true origin of chocolate. The idea was to create an experience centered around the opening chapter of chocolate and allowing people to experience that from the comfort of their home, especially with a friend. Every aspect of the project pays homage to cacao and where it comes from, including the forms, mechanisms, and even flavors.
