About Korie

Hello,

I am so... so... so... excited to be here! I know many of you from elementary school, I am excited to get to know you as Middle Schoolers.

I grew up in the other O state of Ohio. On a farm in a small town similar to Astoria but also different with way more corn.

Before I was a counselor, I was a teacher. I had the opportunity to teach middle school and high school social studies and even some physical education. I love learning about people in history. They are real people just like you and me with fun and sometimes complicated stories. I soon realized I wanted to help people today as they walked through their own life and story. So I went back to school for a Master's degree in counseling.

The teenage years are my favorite. Teenagers' brain is in the remodeling phase, and just like extreme home makeovers, it can get messy, but it is a true joy to see progress.

Outside of school, you can find me running (long distances really slow) with my husband and sometimes my dog, TARS. On rainy days you can find me reading, drinking a hot cup of coffee.
