Juniors and Seniors: Interested in taking classes at Clatsop Community College through Expanded Options? Click here to find out how to begin this process.
Please note the following:
Honors courses will not be separate courses this year. Students will still have the opportunity to earn "honors" designation through the general course. Honors opportunities will be offered in English 9, Integrated Science, English 10, Biology, Global Studies, and US History. The teachers of each of these courses will give more information once classes start.
Students who were previously enrolled at AHS most likely have a new advisory teacher this year. Advisories were scheduled based on grade level, math class, and a student's location in Astoria. This is intended to help support a shift back to in-person learning. Advisory will look a lot different this year - your advisory teacher will be in contact with you this week to set up an introductory meeting to tell you all about it.
Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors will generally have 7 classes, including advisory. Seniors are only required to take classes required for graduation, but are encouraged to take additional courses, especially if they are planning to continue their education after high school. Additionally, seniors who are planning to participate in OSAA sports/activities need at least 5 classes, including advisory, to be eligible. Students can access a copy of their transcript by emailing Tami Jones at tjones@astoria.k12.or.us.
As always, feel free to contact anyone in the counseling office if you have a question!
