How does this community Service help?

The Animal Shelter community service has been looking at ways they can volunteer in a animal shelter called

"Friends of PV Animals." Much like the Animal Shelter community service's team, Friends of Puerto Vallarta Animals is a group of dedicated volunteers who are committed to the

well-being of the homeless pets staying at the municipal pound. This organization of volunteers try their best to save these animals,

and by having a well trained staff of veterinarians , they can do that.

If you volunteer, you will find yourself doing a variety of things, such as:

• Walk and socialize the dogs or cuddle and play with the cats
• Assist with adoption events by transporting animals to the venue
• Take photographs of the shelter animals for this website. Showing an animal in their best light can make a big difference in the animal becoming adopted.
• Groom or bathe a pet before an adoption event

Help Friends of Puerto Vallarta

Every year, during March , Friends of Puerto Vallarta have a fund raising event. All proceeds go towards supporting our efforts at the Centro de Acopio (PV Animal Shelter) and for other abandoned animals in the Puerto Vallarta area.

Donate

Donations of cat/kitten and dog/puppy food are greatly needed. The shelter relies entirely on donations to feed its resident animals. Medicine such as antibiotics and vaccines are also needed.

Donate a Bed

Consider donating a Kuranda bed for a shelter dog to sleep on. Kuranda beds are durable, easy to clean and keep their dogs off of the cold cement floor.

Foster

Sometimes a shelter environment is not the best place for very young or sick and injured animals. Consider helping a vulnerable or special needs pet get the special attention and care she deserves. Foster homes are needed in the Puerto Vallarta area as well as Mexico in general.
