Inskeep Student Council is a group of elected scholars in grades 3rd-6th who work with Ms. Krakowsky and the AIA leadership team. Scholars build leadership and civic engagement skills through service to their school and broader Los Angeles community. They host on-campus events, such as Spirit Days, Spirit Store, and campus clean-ups. Applications for this club open in Septembert speech, and are voted into office by their peers. Once elected, scholars hold their position for the academic year.
Our Inskeep LGBTQ+ Club, known as Spectrum, is a safe space for students of all gender and sexual orientations and is not restricted to scholars who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community. The club meets once per week and is a space where scholars can build community and overcome feelings of isolation and alienation that can result from feeling "othered." The club empowers students as they develop a sense of belonging within their school. This club also supports students interested in becoming allies for their LGBTQ+ peers and provide a safe place to help understand and learn how to offer support.
Vanguard Team is AIA's broadcast team! Scholars create weekly videos to highlight on-campus events, as well as current events happening in the local area or within the world that are of importance. Scholars work with Mr. Ramirez to write their own scripts and film their original content. Vanguard Broadcasts are played weekly during Morning Round Up on Wednesdays. Scholars in grades 3rd-6th are invited to apply for a position on Vanguard Team in September.
Bravo Team is AIA's student leadership team that facilitates daily Morning Round Up and ensures that all scholars and teachers are celebrated. They additionally support with school-wide recognition, such as daily positive referrals, birthday celebrations, and class of the week celebrations. Scholars in grades 4th-6th grades are invited to apply for a spot on Bravo Team in September.
