Record location, time, temperature, humidity, and sky conditions
Start a 10 minute timer
Observe dragonflies nearby (utilizing binoculars when needed)
Document amount and specific species of dragonflies seen during observation time
Attempt to catch dragonflies for closer observation using nets.
After repeating steps 1-4 in separate locations identify possible patterns or correlation between environment details and dragonflies documented
Materials used for procedure:
Net
Binoculars
Thermometer
Different variables we payed attention to that could potentially affect the number of dragonflies in the area observed:
Atmospheric conditions (overcast, rain, sun)
Temperature
Water presence
Food availability (insects/prey)
Presence of predators
