We're excited to have you as part of our ASM Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO),
where the aim is to create connections between the school and our community.
We arrived in Milan from Greenwich, Connecticut, in the summer of 2022 and, before that, lived in London for 6 years. I am the mother of 2 boys, Henri, 7th grade, and Leonardo, 5th grade. My husband Rudy is Milanese, so although this is our first time living in Milan, we have been coming to Italy consistently for 17 years and have our Italian family in Milan. We love Milan, and part of that easy transition to living abroad has been our experience with the school. Coming from a school with strong parent involvement, I have learned the great gift that a strong school community can be for families, teachers, and administrators over the years. Building a strong PTO is part of what strengthens that community. It has a significant role in enriching the lives of everyone at the school. Our role is to promote a sense of community throughout the school and encourage all families to take advantage of all the current and new programs we hope to achieve
Mia Smith, Vice President
Born and raised in Stockholm. We left Sweden in 2017 for what was meant to be a short stop in Spain but fell in love and couldn’t leave. Until my husbands worked required a move to beautiful Italy, we spent last summer scouting for the best place to be and our daughter demanded ASM! No doubt about it!
Proud Mother of 3 adorable kids, 2 boys in university and one little lady in grade 4. Happy to be apart of the ASM community!
Jennifer Nunez, Treasurer
My name is Jennifer Núñez. I was born in Venezuela, the oldest of five siblings, to a Spanish father and an Italian mother. I have been married to Marcial for 19 years and I’m the mother of Mateo (14) and Miranda (11).
We lived in Houston since 2007, where my children were born, until two years ago, when my family and I moved to Milan for work-related reasons. I am a Certified Public Accountant and have worked continuously since graduating, including 12 years in a medical products corporation. For eight years, I was also an active member of the PTO at my children’s school in the United States.
I’m excited to be part of this school community and to contribute as the Treasurer, bringing my professional experience and my commitment to supporting our families, especially because I know firsthand how important the PTO is when you arrive not knowing anyone and how much their support meant to me.
Julia Bryson, Secretary
My name is Julia, a mother of three children—Stefano, David, and Hope—and I’ve been part of the ASM community for 7 years, with almost 13 years in Milan with my Italian husband Rocco.
I grew up in a small Texas town and learned the importance of kindness and helping neighbors.
As Secretary, I aim to be an advocate for our community, helping to sustain and to grow an inclusive space built on respect, compassion, and connection. I am passionate about volunteering and love exploring creativity, from studying astronomy in university to working as a film producer.
I am committed to supporting and strengthening our school’s extraordinary environment. I also believe in the importance of humor, kindness, and a little spider-saving.
