Panel Discussion
Reimagining the Future of Education
Reimagining the Future of Education
As part of The Spark: ASM’s Innovation Dialogue on November 19, this panel brings together voices from across the ASM community to explore one essential question:
What will educational excellence look like in the years ahead?
From the rise of artificial intelligence to the growing emphasis on student agency and real-world learning, education is evolving faster than ever. Our panelists will share insights, challenge assumptions, and engage in an open dialogue about how we can reimagine learning together and what we most want to value as a school of the future.
2:15-3:00 P.M. in the ASM Auditorium
Tech Entrepreneur / CEO in tech sustainability & AI
Ran Roth is an entrepreneur and technologist on a mission to make our world healthier, smarter, and more sustainable. As Co-Founder and CEO of Sensibo, he leads groundbreaking work at the intersection of smart sensing, AI, and air quality — transforming how we heat, cool, and breathe indoors. With a background in computer science and over two decades in IoT and product innovation, Ran brings a “no-nonsense” approach to sustainability and a deep belief in human ingenuity. At The Spark, he’ll share insights on how our physical environment shapes learning, why AI and robotics will redefine—not replace—our work, and how an entrepreneurial mindset and strong values are essential for the next generation of thinkers, makers, and engineers.
Adjunct Professor, IE University IMPACT Program; Former Technology Executive
Rohini Panjrath is an educator and entrepreneur working at the intersection of technology and human development. A former tech executive in the United States, she now teaches in IE University’s IMPACT program, a multidisciplinary initiative designed to develop leaders of positive change.
Drawing on her experience building AI-powered platforms, Rohini sees artificial intelligence as a tool to expand creativity and agency—not a threat. She believes technology can enhance learning, but true innovation still depends on belonging, empathy, and human connection. Schools, she envisions, should be “living labs” where students integrate digital innovation with real-world impact to shape the future.
Founder & CEO, Smartick
Daniel González de Vega is an entrepreneur and education innovator who founded Smartick, the adaptive math program built on short, daily sessions that personalize learning so every child can reach their potential. With a background spanning strategy consulting, private equity, and board service (Freepik, Milton Education, Escuela Madrileña de Decoración), Daniel brings a rare blend of product vision, rigorous analytics, and scale-up experience. At The Spark, he’ll explore the role of technology in learning, what schooling looks like after AI’s disruption, and why the science of memory still matters. Expect sharp, evidence-based insights on building edtech that actually moves learning—without the hype.
ASM Upper School Social Studies, Film, & Theory of Knowledge Teacher
Eric Foinquinos brings together the analytical lens of a historian, the creativity of a filmmaker, and the philosophical curiosity of a TOK scholar. Before joining ASM, Eric built an international career as a film and television composer, creating scores for more than 150 documentaries and miniseries aired across the globe. His dual background in the arts and social sciences gives him a distinctive voice on how storytelling, perspective, and truth shape both learning and society.
At The Spark, Eric will reflect on the future of education through creativity and critical thinking—how film and media can train students to decode bias, how Theory of Knowledge builds resilience in the age of misinformation, and why the humanities must evolve alongside technology to keep education deeply human.
ASM Upper School Student
Born in Ecuador and having lived in Colombia and Dubai, Paula brings a global outlook shaped by diverse cultures, languages, and educational settings. She is passionate about international relations, political debate, and Model United Nations, where she has developed strong skills in research, diplomacy, and public speaking.
At The Spark, Paula will offer a critical and reflective student perspective on the role of artificial intelligence in learning. She believes that while tools like ChatGPT can support deeper understanding when used thoughtfully, they also risk replacing the productive struggle that fosters resilience and meaningful learning. Paula is particularly interested in how schools can help students maintain curiosity, independence, and human connection in a world where AI is increasingly present—and how we can prevent overreliance on technology from contributing to the loneliness epidemic affecting her generation. Her voice invites us to consider not only what students learn, but who they become in the process.
ASM Lower School Director
Originally from a small mountain town in Washington State, Dani has built her career fostering student success through inclusive, intentional, and joyful school culture. After leading schools in the Pacific Northwest and Ethiopia, she now serves as Director of the Lower School at ASM. Her leadership blends systems thinking, empathy, and a belief in harnessing individual motivation for the collective good.
With roots in Montessori and inquiry-based learning, Dani is passionate about building school communities rooted in connection, collaboration, and shared purpose. She believes innovation begins with curiosity and dialogue—making her an ideal moderator for this year’s conversation on the future of education.
