This is a guiding document in our planning and development of learning opportunities for students at Albany Senior High School.
It has been used as a guide, inviting kaiako (teachers) to rethink approaches to engaging ākonga (students), re-envisage the teacher/learner dynamic, revise old habits, and reconfigure learning environments to acknowledge and embrace cultural differences.
As part of the course planning process, we have focused on Rangatiratanga (self-determination) as this supports ākonga to achieve. Thinking and meaning-making are promoted. Learning is meaningful and connected.
If you are unhappy with the teacher's explanation, you may ask the Specialist Subject Leader for a decision.
This must be done within three school days of the work being handed back.
