Q: Do I have to attend both days of the symposium?

A: Given the nature of this symposium, where the participants constitute the (informed) audience, one is expected to attend the symposium through its entire duration. 


Q: Where will I be housed during the symposium? 

A: Participants will be housed at the IIT Delhi campus adjacent to the Ashoka campus where two participants will share a double occupancy room. Rooms will be assigned randomly while ensuring that individuals of the same gender are housed together. 

There are shuttles that ply between Ashoka University and IIT-Delhi campus.

Q: What if I want a single room for myself? 

A: You can request to be housed independently for the standard price of 1350 INR per night. To raise this request, send us an email. 

Q: By when do I have to check in? 

A: You can either arrive on the 5th evening or 6th morning before registrations close. In case you are late due to unforeseen circumstances, you are expected to inform us about the same ahead of time. 

Q: By when do I have to check out

A: You have to check out from your allotted room by 12 PM, 7 April.

Q: Whom do I contact for emergencies related to accommodation during my stay? 

A: Each participant will be assigned a person of contact who will handle all day-to-day queries. In the event that you wish to get in touch with the operations team, you may write to Raginee (raginee.sarmah@ashoka.edu.in). We will also be providing you necessary information (such as the location of the infirmary) in the dossier that you will receive upon arrival.

Q: How do I get to Ashoka University campus from the Airport?

A: If you are taking a flight to Delhi for this event, you will be eligible for a pick-up and drop-off service to and from the Ashoka University campus. Our volunteers will be present to assist you through this. (You might be sharing your cab with a fellow participant or participants at the symposium; something we are quite sure will sweeten the long commute! )


Q: How do I avail free pick-up/drop off to the Airport?

A: After booking your tickets you are to fill out your flight information, including the time of arrival and departure on this google form. A cab will be arranged for you based on this information. You may expect to be contacted by the driver on your day of arrival or departure. 


In case your flight gets delayed or advanced, write to us at uwp@ashoka.edu.in without delay. 

Q: How do I get to campus if I am not an outstation participant? 

A: If you plan on arranging your own transport from Delhi, here is the google map location of the University Campus. 

Alternatively, Ashoka University also runs shuttles between Campus and Jahangirpuri Metro station at Frequent intervals. If you would like to avail this facility, kindly provide us with your estimated time of arrival and departure and we shall book seats for you accordingly. 

Q: Which is the fastest route to campus from Delhi on a private vehicle?

A: Due to the ongoing Farmers’ protest, some parts of NH44, especially near Singhu border, are experiencing frequent traffic congestion. Depending on the time of day, your commute may take anywhere between 50 minutes to two hours. Here is a list of alternative routes that have been recommended by the Ashoka University transport team. We advise you to plan accordingly.

Q: How do I nominate my paper for the Ashoka-Sage Prize?

A: Your paper will be automatically nominated for consideration. However, in case you are presenting more than one paper, you will need to specify which one you’d like us to consider for the prize. 

Q: Will this symposium be broadcast online?/ Can people join it online?

A: No. The sessions at the symposium will neither be recorded nor broadcast online.

Q: Is the symposium open to the general public?

A: Attendance at the symposium is by invitation only.
