General Photo Requirements

Check to make sure they meet these requirements:

• The photo is in high resolution - 300 dpi or higher is a good standard

• The photo is not blurry

• The photo contains one or more of the following

  • AHS student

  • AHS staff

  • AHS event

• The content of the photo fits within the expectations of the school values and handbook.

• If you are using a mobile device to capture the photo please check for these settings:

  • No filters

  • No zoom

  • Are your photos in high resolution? (iphone, android)

Senior Portrait Photo Requirements

When using a photographer for your senior portrait, make sure you follow the following formatting guidelines: print these requirements out and bring them to the photographer. Please ensure that your photographer has submitted your photo to AHSyearbook@ashland.k12.ma.us with the subject line of the email as "the student's Last Name, First Name - Senior Photo." Please also make sure the PICTURE FILE is named "Student's Last Name, First Name." The yearbook office is not responsible for editing your photographs or communicating with your photographer.

• • Color pictures only in Portrait orientation

  • No props (this includes holding sports items, pets, or other objects, or taking photos with items such as cars and bikes)

  • Clothing must be school appropriate

  • Pictures should be 3.2:4 ratio, 300 dpi or better.  The MINIMUM pixel dimensions of the photo should be 960 x 1200. Larger photos will be cropped if needed.

Submissions for the yearbook

Check to make sure your photos meet all of the requirements above and then use the checklist.

•  If your photo is one of the following, use the Senior Bio Google form to submit them all at once

  • A senior portrait

  • A senior memory

  • A senior baby or sibling photo

• Any other photo to be submitted for the yearbook can be emailed directly to ahsyearbook@ashland.k12.ma.us
