FRIENDSHIP BRACELET FUN

Building friendship and socialising with peers by creating fun and colorful bracelets together. Join us for the Creative Threads Summer Workshop, where Grade 2-3 students will discover the fun of making their own string bracelets! This hands-on program teaches various knotting techniques and design skills, allowing kids to express their creativity while enhancing fine motor abilities. Participants will create colorful, unique bracelets to take home, making new friends and memories along the way. Let’s weave some summer fun together!

STORYTIME THEATRE: BRING STORIES TO LIFE

BAKING THE BASICS AND QUICK SNACK (Must Enroll both Period 1 & 2)

Learn how to bake an assortment of sweet and savory foods, from cupcakes to pizza, and brownies to bread! We will follow recipes, understand the science of baking, and have fun.

This course will cover two sessions because baking takes time. Students will prepare all ingredients, do their own cooking, and, best of all, learn the importance of cleaning up!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Students must enroll in both Period 1 and Period 2 to participate. Each session lasts 3 hours and features one baking recipe and one funky snack every day.

POKEMON PARK PLANNER 

Design and build your Pokemon park - from layout to zoning the park and different rides. Students will also decide on small operational details of their own park!

• Explore our young entrepreneur’s mind and see how they would run their own theme park

BE ENERGIZED!!  Come discover how energy and physics are inseparable.  Children will see how we can transform energy into useful forces to help us work. Not only will children be fascinated by the many objects in motion, but more importantly, they will learn about choosing clean, renewable and alternative energy in the process.

Matter

Students learn about all states of matter.By observing the varying behaviors of different solids and liquids, students conclude that their characteristics can also vary. They will examine more substances closely while learning how to make mixtures, separating them, using different separation methods.

Join us as future robot engineers and get hands-on with many exciting aspects of science - from mechanics and hydraulics to magnetism and chemistry!

Powerful Planet

Are you ready for an electrifying journey through the Earth and back? Welcome to Powerful Planet where children investigate alternative power while they construct an Energy Racer.  These lessons not only teach the science behind an electric car in motion, but the importance of choosing clean, renewable, alternative energy sources. In the camp, the children experiment with different kinds of energy and attempt to extract forces to get their projects in motion. Children discover a world full of clean, renewable energy and learn how to use these types of energy in their lives. Throughout the design and construction of different inventions, children learn simple ways to conserve resources around the house.

STOP MOTION MOVIES

Stop motion movie-making provides children with a great blend of storytelling and technology use. Stop motion is a filming technique where pictures are taken as objects are moved in small increments. When the pictures are put together, it makes the objects appear to be moving. To make these movies, we use a free app called Stop Motion Studio.

ZUMBA KIDS

Zumba Kids classes feature kid-friendly routines based on original Zumba® choreography. We break down the steps, add games, activities and cultural exploration elements into the class structure.

 It helps develop a healthy lifestyle and incorporate fitness as a natural part of children's lives by making fitness fun. Classes incorporate key childhood development elements like leadership, respect, team work, confidence, self-esteem, memory, creativity, coordination, cultural awareness.

The Mini Olympics is a multi-day event designed for kids to participate in various sports and activities. It introduces them to different sports and promotes physical activity and sportsmanship. Highlights include relay races, mini-football, basketball shooting, mini-tennis, and track and field events like sprint races, long jump, throwing, and shot put (softball, tentative). The program aims to foster teamwork, coordination, and a love for sports in a supportive environment.

Come join the fun and excitement of learning history through project based learning.
