If you are volunteering, go ahead and add admin@ashevillefringe.org and volunteers@ashevillefringe.org to your contacts in your email so you don't miss out on any important emails from us!
Some of our venues have only one volunteer shift time slot and can only accommodate one volunteer due to capacity issues
The show schedule is subject to change: we will try to contact you if the show you sign up for changes. Feel free to drop or change your volunteer shifts accordingly.
Please see the Radical Kindness policy detailed below, which will give you the prevailing vibe and communication expectations of working as part of the Asheville Fringe Arts Festival
“We are dedicated to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone, regardless of age, background, gender identity, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or abilities. We believe in promoting radical kindness, which means showing compassion, understanding, and respect in every interaction. Our festival is a space for creativity and expression, but more importantly, it is a space where everyone feels safe and valued.
Radical kindness goes beyond basic politeness—it means making an active effort to be considerate of others, being mindful of their boundaries, and treating everyone with empathy and respect. This extends to the performers, audience members, volunteers, and staff. We encourage everyone to look out for one another and help make the festival a positive experience for all.
Be welcoming: A smile or kind word can make a big difference. Make sure everyone feels like they belong.
Report issues: If you see something that violates our radical kindness policy, please inform one of our staff members or volunteers immediately. We will take your concerns seriously and act swiftly to address them.
Respect boundaries: Be mindful of others’ personal space, opinions, and experiences."
