Monitoring of written curriculum (PLC Question 1):
Ensure the essential standards are taught and aligned across all classrooms, courses, and grade levels.
Support teachers within their department or section to unpack and understand the curriculum for the subject.
Collate and provide feedback to the Director of Curriculum and Professional Learning to facilitate the annual adjustments to the written curriculum.
Monitoring of assessed curriculum (PLC Question 2):
Ensure that assessments are aligned with the ASFM agreements for the discipline.
Monitor learning outcomes to ensure all students learn essential standards.
Ensure the implementation of unit-level proficiency criteria, monitor unit assessment evidence, and document the progress for each grade level.
Collect and report the learning data from the units of instruction within the section.
Monitor the implementation of Response to Intervention - Academic (PLC Questions 3 & 4):
Monitor the implementation of subject area interventions and extensions so all students are supported and challenged to learn.
Support Student Study Teams for students requiring substantial intervention or extension.
Develop a culture of collaboration within the department:
Cultivate a highly functioning team that models professionalism by taking collective ownership of student learning within the subject.
Engage with department members to ensure they are meeting the professional expectations of collaboration and intervening as appropriate.
Model and support the effective facilitation of meetings to ensure time is efficiently used in alignment with a clear purpose.
Facilitate operational activities to support the department/subject:
Manage the day-to-day operations of the department in collaboration with administration, instructional coaches, and the Innovation and Learning Department.
Facilitate the allocation of resources related to curriculum, instruction, and assessment within the department including the development of the department budget.
Collaborate in the allocation of personnel within the department including course assignments, master schedule development, and course catalog development.
Collaborate in supporting new team members in transitioning to ASFM.
Facilitate the development of annual objectives and key results for the department and members within the department to ensure continuous growth and improvement.
