About Ms. Mary Anne

Hello my name is Ms. Mary Anne. I'm excited to be teaching Science this year at ASFG in elementary! I have been teaching for many years and have worked at ASFG in different roles since 2002.  My first position was in first grade and I always enjoyed working with Mr. Nacho during the time my students were with him in the science lab.  Science was always great fun for them and for me. So, I am delighted to be carrying on the legacy of Mr. Nacho and, also, building on the incredible academic work that Ms. Lisa and Mr. Memo have done in the past two years.

I was born and raised in Canada, in a small city called Corner Brook in the province of Newfoundland. I did my BA Education degree at MUN, where I focused on primary education and on working with students with learning needs. I completed a Master's in Theology and a Master's in International Education, as well as a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Literacy. I really like to learn and I hope you do , too!

I also enjoy meeting and connecting with people. I believe children are a beautiful and valued part of our world as they open our minds and hearts to new perspectives and to all the wonder that surrounds us. I can't wait to meet you all and learn something new from each encounter we will be blessed to have!

When not teaching I enjoy reading, walking and swimming as well as keeping in contact with my family and friends. Welcome to the amazing world of science!

Mr. Memo:

Hello my name is Guillermo Nieblas, also known as Mr. Memo.  Many already know me because I have been in the Science lab for the past six years. I love science and enjoy watching you learn with hands on activities.  This year seems different, but you know what, you can make science  experiments and observations anywhere.

I was born in Tijuana, B.C. and grew up in Tlaquepaque, Jalisco.  I Studied Mechanical Electrical Engineering and most recently Educational Sciences.

I worked in the industry for 5 years and then I was a stay at home dad for 15 years.   During this time I was involved with the ASFG as a father and then as an educator.

I am happily married and the father of two young men.

I was introduced to education by volunteering in the art classroom.  I discovered that I really liked the interaction and energy of the children in their learning process, so I decided to continue the path of education.

I love all kinds of animals and have great respect for our mother earth.

I am so excited to have you in science lab class.
