About Me: I'm originally from the Chicago area where I studied Spanish and Literature at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois.

I hold a MA in Secondary Teaching from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.

Over my 12-year career in K-12 schools, I've filled both teaching, academic support, and administrative roles and completed further professional certification programs in Learning and Behavioral Differences, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Classroom, Teaching English as a Second Language, and The Science of Bilingual Education.  Currently, I am beginning my pursuit of a second Master's Degree in Speech and Communication Disorders from Northwestern University in Chicago. Needless to say, I am a life-long learner and a passionate advocate for inclusive social justice.

I'm also recently married (to a tapatío!) and outside of school, you can catch me running, power lifting, writing, and dancing at EDM festivals!

Department Philosophy: The study of literary texts - fiction, non-fiction, and poetry - encourages students to examine the human condition in all its aspects, and to effectively respond to the world around them in thoughtful and articulate ways. ASFG provides a high quality language arts education which emphasizes cultural literacy, human values, creativity, and critical thinking and which also empowers students as listeners, readers, writers, and speakers.
