Course Description:
AP Economics is a year-long, college-level course that complies with College Board guidelines and is the equivalent of an introductory-level university course in Microeconomics and Macroeconomics. The purpose of the AP Macroeconomics course is to provide students with a thorough understanding of the principles of economics that apply to an economic system as a whole. Such a course places particular emphasis on the study of national income and price-level determination, and also develops students’ familiarity with economic performance measures, the financial sector, stabilization policies, economic growth, and international economics.
Course Goals
The students will develop a factual knowledge base of major economic concepts, models and formulas in a college level introductory economics course.
The students will create and interpret the major economic models as prescribed by the College Board.
The students will develop the analytical skills necessary to deal critically with existing and hypothetical problems in economics.
The students will interpret situations and prescribe solutions to problems.
The students will succeed on the AP Macroeconomics and AP Microeconomics exams
