Service Learning is defined as acts of service that fulfill various needs in our community and broader communities, addressing the inequities and lack of opportunities some of our neighbors might experience, while also learning and gaining insight into those lives in Fort Worth and beyond. Service Learning is non-paying, and aids and benefits the needs of others.
The Service Learning Program is designed to provide students the opportunities to build reciprocal relationships with individuals and organizations in the community, to encourage students to understand and empathize with the needs of others, and creatively address those needs. Our program is a reflection of the Episcopal Baptismal Covenant to honor the dignity of every human being. All Saints' wants to engage and encourage students to learn through acts of selflessness and service.
Service can take many forms, but keeps others at the core, generously giving self, time, or possession. Service Learning takes place in 5 important steps: Investigation, Preparation and Planning, Action, Reflection, and Demonstration. Serving Christ in all persons, we have the privilege to take an active role in applying academic, social, and personal skills to help others, grow as individuals, gain a deeper understanding of society, and develop leaders throughout the community.
