AFJROTC curriculum includes instruction in Cultural studies, leadership, management, organization, space exploration and the history of air power while enhancing the interpersonal and communication skills of the cadets. The Senior Aerospace Science Instructor (SASI) and the Aerospace Science Instructor (ASI) are retired Air Force personnel with extensive backgrounds in professional education and Air Force training. The cadet corps will be managed and operated by JROTC students under the guidance of our corps leadership and the instructors. Our "Group" level cadet organization, mirrors the active duty structure. Cadets will learn to develop leadership skills and characteristics through their direct, hands-on ownership of planned operations and activities.
Each cadet is issued an "Air Force JROTC Cadet Guide" which contains policy guidance, requirements, and rules of conduct for AFJROTC cadets at South Anchorage High School. Each cadet is required to study this guide and will be held responsible for its contents on examination.
