If you are feeling stressed or anxious, try one of these strategies to help calm yourself down.
*Remember that taking slow deep breaths in and out will help you to calm down.
Do this breathing exercise by slowly taking a deep breath in, hold for 3 seconds, and then slowly breath out.

*Find strategies that you enjoy and be open to trying new ones because you just might like it.
Remember to be grateful for what you have.
We can see things differently and both be right. It's okay to have different opinions and to see things differently.
Write 3 things you are grateful for everyday.
Get to know each other better by asking one or more of these questions.
Tell your mom or dad about the parts of the brain you have learned with the counselor. What does the prefrontal cortex, amygdala, and hippocampus do?
What happens when your amygdala is triggered? How does your brain become like this glitter bottle (jumbled up)?
The prefrontal cortex "big brain" is the thinking and problem solving part of the brain. The hippocampus is where all your memories are stored. The amygdala "small brain" acts as the security guard or protector.
