Find Your Calm
Figure out what works for you to help you calm down. Some people like breathing, closing their eyes and being still, fidgeting with something squishy, or listening to certain music. Whatever it is, make sure it’s something you can have/do anywhere.
Eat Real Food
Drink water instead of sodas and fresh fruits and veggies as often as you can. Eating processed foods will make you feel more groggy and make it harder for you to focus on the task at hand.
Get Your Zzz’s
Sleep is when your brain organizes all the information it receives throughout the day. Go to bed early enough so that you can get adequate sleep--enough so you feel good and fresh each day!
Get Your Steps
Make sure you are getting adequate movement throughout your day. If you’re sitting for a long time, you might benefit from a quick walk, even a short one down the hall or around the block with your dog. Stepping away from a task may help you focus better when you get back to it.
Get Outside
Sometimes fresh air, feeling the sun and seeing trees may give you the little boost you need.
Better yet, combine some of the above tips (breathe mindfully while you walk outside) for maximum benefits!
Cook or bake something
Do something nice for someone else
Write a letter to a friend you miss and send it in the mail
Play with your pet/walk your dog
Listen to music or play an instrument
Dance
Play a board game or cards
Do an art project
